1) Summary
The App helps merchants migrate and synchronize product/catalog data (and, if you configure it, order/customer data) between Shopify and other platforms. To do this, we access certain Shopify store data via API with the scopes you approve during installation. We keep this data only as long as needed to provide the service, and we secure it with industry-standard controls.

3) Information we collect
3.1 From merchants (Shop data)
- Store identifiers (shop domain, shop ID), owner/admin contact email, plan information.
- Access tokens/scopes (stored encrypted) to perform operations you authorize.
- Catalog data required for synchronization: product/variant IDs, titles, SKUs, options, inventory, images, pricing, tags, metafields.
- Optional (if you enable corresponding features): order IDs, line items, timestamps, fulfillment/financial status; customer IDs, names, emails, phone numbers, shipping/billing addresses.
- Operational metadata: logs, error traces, API call timestamps, and configuration you set in the App (mappings, operators, rules).
3.2 Automatically
- Device and usage data from our dashboard (IP address, browser type, pages accessed) for security and analytics.
- Webhooks from Shopify to keep data in sync (e.g., product/update, order/create).
4) How we use information
- To provide and improve the App’s core features: product migration, synchronization, and mapping.
- To authenticate API requests and maintain secure integrations.
- To troubleshoot, monitor, and protect the service (fraud prevention, abuse detection, rate limiting).
- To provide merchant support and communicate important updates.
- Legal bases (GDPR, where applicable): performance of a contract, legitimate interests (service operation and security), and compliance with legal obligations.
5) Sharing and disclosures
We do not sell personal information. We share data only as needed to run the service:
- Infrastructure providers (e.g., Amazon Web Services) for hosting, storage, and security.
- Integrated platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) as directed by you to synchronize data.
- Support/monitoring tools (e.g., logging/alerting) under strict access controls.
- Legal: if required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, or safety.
6) International data transfers
We may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.
7) Retention
- Operational logs/configuration: typically up to 90 days, unless you request earlier deletion.
- Merchant data necessary for synchronization: retained for the duration of your subscription and deleted within 30 days after uninstallation or termination, unless law requires longer retention.
- Backups: rotate on a fixed schedule; deletion propagates during normal rotation.
8) Security
- TLS encryption in transit; encryption at rest for databases and object storage.
- Least-privilege access, API key rotation, webhook HMAC verification where applicable.
- Audit logs for administrative actions and sensitive operations.
9) Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us as below. If you are a Shopify customer (a buyer of a merchant using our App), please contact the merchant directly— we process your information on their behalf.
10) Merchant controls
- You can uninstall the App at any time from your Shopify admin to revoke access.
- You can request deletion of stored data (see “Data deletion” below).
11) Cookies and similar technologies
We use minimal cookies/local storage for session management and security on our dashboard. Analytics, if used, is configured in a privacy-conscious manner (no cross-site tracking or ad targeting).
12) Children’s privacy
The App is intended for use by merchants and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13) Data deletion
To request deletion, uninstall the App and send us an email with the details below. We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days unless a shorter period is required by Shopify or applicable law.
- Shop domain (e.g., your-store.myshopify.com)
- App name: Portify
- Owner/admin contact email
- Specific data you want deleted (if different from full deletion)
14) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. If the changes are material, we will provide notice (e.g., in-app banner or email). The “Effective date” above shows when this policy last changed.
